Fiona’s Cesarine-style home cooking classes are run from the heart of O’Connor, Canberra.

They’re a perfect treat for you, something different for the next girls’ night, and a thoughtful gift for someone in your family.

Learn

Learn new recipes that you can replicate in your own kitchen - for entertaining or everyday meals. Taste new cuisines you haven’t tried, and enjoy exploring in a hands-on cooking adventure.

Understand

Revisit the tastes of your holiday, and be able to bring them back to life in your own kitchen. Understand how your favourite restaurant cooks and seasons their dishes.

Upskill

Learn skills to enhance your cooking - whether you’re a beginner, a more seasoned cook, or somewhere in the middle, ready to move to the next level.

Book a Class

Feeling crafty, but tired of painting? Do you love hands-on outings like pottery class, but want an activity that’s easier to replicate at home?

Visit Food for Taught, and learn how to cook instead.

Located in Fiona Lynch-Magor’s kitchen in O’Connor, only a 5-minute drive from the centre of Canberra - you’ll learn a new cuisine, improve your skills, and have a great day (or night) out.

With classes capped at 6 people, you’ll also get a more intimate cooking experience than in a commercial kitchen - plus receive practical advice and hands-on help with your technique. You’ll be able to enjoy a walk in the vegetable patch, too.

About Fiona

Fiona Lynch-Magor | Creative Director

Food for Taught was established in January 2025, inspired by Fiona’s own experiences participating in home-based cooking classes across the world.

This is not a restaurant kitchen  â€“ you’ll be learning dishes, skills, and techniques in Fiona’s home, developed through years of reading, travels, and perhaps too many hours watching BBC Food.

“Fiona made me feel like a pro."

I had the pleasure recently of a class with the very friendly Fiona. Even though vegetarian cooking is not my nomal area of expertise, Fiona made me feel like a pro. What a great way to spend some time on the weekend.

“Learn to make delicious, cost friendly, and easy food"

My girlfriend and I have recently moved out on our own and we love to eat but don’t cook much. Fiona’s class for young adults was just what we needed to learn to make delicious, cost friendly and easy food every night of the week.

    “My own coconut milk!"

I have never ground a coconut before to make my own coconut milk! I only had it from a can. Sri Lankan cooking was a lot of fun…easy and tasty.

    “Fiona's Sardinian class was amazing"

I love Italian food but have never tried Sardinian specialty food except on a recent trip. Fiona’s Sardinian class was amazing where I got to taste again many of the specialties of this special place.
